Newlyweds take the UMP convocation stage

PAYA BESAR, 6 November 2022 – The newlyweds, Muhammad Shafinaim Akmal Zukifli and Nur Shahida Azzahra Mohd Zamri shared their double joy when sharing the stage at the 17th Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) Convocation Ceremony a day after their wedding ceremony.

More meaningfully, the couple were awarded B.Eng (Hons) Mechatronics Engineering degree at the same time at the UMP Sports Complex Hall.

According to the 25-year-old couple, the wedding date in Kulim, Kedah was long planned, but they were grateful it went smoothly even the day before the convocation ceremony.

Nur Shahida added that despite the tiredness of managing their wedding preparations and graduations simultaneously, they were happy and excited as those were the most meaningful moments of their lives.

However, despite this excitement, there was an unfortunate event when her parents could not get to the convocation ceremony due to a car breakdown upon their arrival at Jeli.

According to her, after the wedding in Kulim, her parents intended to return home in Kelantan before moving to Pahang to attend the convocation ceremony.

“However, upon arriving at Jeli, her father’s car was severely damaged due to a pothole where both tyres ruptured and did not move.

“It is sad that my parents are not here at the convocation ceremony.

“However, thankfully UMP has aired this event live on Facebook.

“So my parents can watch me and my husband take to the stage,” Nur Shahida said.

She would also like to thank the lecturers and UMP for helping throughout their studies at UMP.

In addition, she appreciated the sacrifice of her parents who are a source of strength and always provided support and advice for both of them.
