![]() UMPSA recognised as 609th Best University in the World in QS WUR, listed among Top 200 THE Impact Rankings Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) has risen to the 609th position globally in the QS World University Rankings (QS WUR) 2026, recently announced. This position maintains UMPSA’s standing as the number one best technical university among the Malaysian Technical University Network (MTUN). Even more proudly, for the faculty citation indicator, UMPSA ranks second best in Malaysia. This recognition indicates that research works from the UMPSA’s faculties are of high quality and are frequently referenced in other academic publications. This ranking is based on the QS WUR 2026 assessment criteria, which include academic reputation, citations per faculty, employer reputation, faculty–student ratio, employment outcomes, international faculty, international research network, international students, and sustainability. Held in the capital city of Tashkent, the signing ceremony marks a major step forward in advancing cooperation between Malaysia and Uzbekistan, particularly in the fields of technical education, joint research, scholarly publications, and student mobility. As one of Malaysia’s leading technical universities, UMPSA continues to expand its global network. The strategic selection of TSTU as a partner university demonstrates UMPSA’s commitment to becoming a globally recognised leader in engineering and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). TSTU, one of the oldest and most renowned technical institutions in Central Asia, is highly regarded for its strong engineering programmes, making it an ideal collaborator for UMPSA. UMPSA strengthens global engagement at APAIE 2025 in Delhi Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) continued to elevate its international profile through participation in the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) 2025 Conference, held from 25 to 27 March 2025 at the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), New Delhi. This annual event brings together higher education institutions, policymakers, and international partners from across the Asia-Pacific region and other parts of the world to exchange ideas, forge collaborations, and advance the global education agenda. UMPSA was represented by Director of the Centre for International Relations, Associate Professor Dr.-Ing. Mohd Azmir Mohd Azhari, and Nur Ezzati Mohd Nasir from the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. Both were invited to speak at two dedicated sessions, sharing UMPSA’s unique perspectives and initiatives that reflect its commitment to internationalisation and educational innovation.
