UMPSA remains the country's number 1 best technical university

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) has maintained its position as the top technical university in the country, ranking first among the Malaysian Technical Universities Network (MTUN) for three consecutive years.

The announcement of the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025 on 9 October 2024 placed UMPSA in the 601-800 range globally and as the 8th best university in Malaysia overall, and the 6th best public university, following Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), and Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).

UMPSA, the 16th public university established by the Government, offers higher education programmes focused on engineering and technology and serves as the most advanced provider of high-level TVET programmes in the country.

UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Profesor Dato' Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin said that this success further strengthens UMPSA's position among world-class universities and highlights its production of impactful research and innovation at a global level.

UMPSA Recognised as the Best Technology University for Sustainability in Malaysia, Ranked 62nd Globally

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) continues to excel as the best technology university in Malaysia, achieving 62nd place globally in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings (UIGWUR) 2024, recently announced by UI GreenMetric.

This achievement places UMPSA as the number one university in the Malaysian Technical University Network (MTUN) and fourth in Malaysia among 60 listed higher education institutions (HEIs).

According to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) who is exercising the function of Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ts. Dr Aida Mustapha, this ranking marks an improvement for UMPSA, rising six places from 68th in the world in 2023.

“The UIGWUR, which measures green and sustainability initiatives, was established by Universitas Indonesia (UI) in 2010.

“UMPSA has made impressive progress in empowering sustainable practices through various university-led programmes.

“This success reflects UMPSA’s commitment to developing a sustainable and resilient campus,” she stated.

UMPSA and NIT Yonago College strengthen relations through Edu-Tourism Summer Programme 2024

A total of 11 students accompanied by Professor Morita Shiota from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Yonago College, Japan, participated in the Edu-Tourism Summer Programme 2024 organised by the Centre for International Relations (CIR), UMPSA, from 4 to 10 September 4 2024.

According to the Director of CIR, Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Azmir Mohd Azhari, the programme schedule was carefully planned to provide participants with a comprehensive experience.

“Through this programme, we hope participants will not only gain academic knowledge but also experience Malaysia’s uniqueness and beauty.

“This programme also serves as a unique platform to strengthen collaboration between UMPSA and NIT Yonago College.

“Participants had the opportunity to interact with local students and academic staff, building close friendships and laying the foundation for future collaboration between the two institutions,” he stated.
