83 UMPSA Doctor of Philosophy graduates celebrated this year
GAMBANG, 25 October 2024 – A total of 83 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) graduates from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) were honoured during the 19th UMPSA Convocation Ceremony this year.
The graduates were celebrated in a Hooding Ceremony for PhD Graduates 2024, organised by the Institute of Graduate Studies (IPS). Among them, 53 are local graduates, while the remaining 30 are international graduates from various countries.
The ceremony was held as a tribute to the graduates for overcoming the challenges and hardships of pursuing a doctoral degree.
It also served to acknowledge the contributions of their supervisors, whose guidance was instrumental in their success.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr Yuserrie Zainuddin, UMPSA is committed to viewing excellence as a continuous journey rather than a destination.
“Our strategic dream, as outlined in the UMPSA Strategic Plan 2021-2025, is to position this university as a global institution excelling in research, innovation, and transformative learning.
“Let us work together to elevate the UMPSA brand and establish this university as one of the best in Malaysia.
“I also encourage UMPSA graduate alumni to maintain close connections with their supervisors and university peers and contribute meaningfully to the academic field,” he said.
In addition to the 83 PhD graduates, the 19th UMPSA Convocation Ceremony this year also celebrated a total of 263 postgraduate graduates, including 96 Research Mode Master’s graduates, 84 Coursework Mode Master’s graduates, and Mixed Mode Master’s graduates.
