UMP commemorates services and contributions of retirees
PAYA BESAR, 30 December 2021 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) organised Majlis Jasa Dikenang to commemorate the services of retirees while serving at the university.
Many of their services and bittersweet memories, especially in contributing their ideas and energy in ensuring UMP moves forward and succeeds throughout the 20 years of establishment.
As serving civil servants, no matter how deep the love for the profession, we cannot escape the reality checks that retirement is a process to go through when the time comes.
According to Professor Dato’ Ts. Yusserie Zainuddin who performs the function of the Vice-Chancellor of UMP, leaving the service is not the end to continue serving the religion, race and nation.
“Thank you to all who have contributed their services and ideas throughout their time at UMP in ensuring that this university is always at the forefront.
“The university management will always be committed and pay attention to various aspects of post-service, especially related to the welfare of UMP retirees,” he said in the recent Majlis Jasa Dikenang 2021 organised by the Registry Department.
He prayed that all the retirees would always be blessed with happiness and lasting health.
Profesor Dato’ Dr. Yusserie was present to gift the UMP Alumni Corporate Card initiative which is also a manifestation of the university’s appreciation for the loyalty and commitment of its retirees throughout their service.
Also present was the Chief Operating Officer/Registrar of UMP, Hazmin Aris.
The retirees can use the special card for services and facilities offered at the University Health Centre, Library, Centre for Sports and Culture, and others.
The nine UMP retirees were Dzull Zabarrod Ahmad, Azhari Ghazali, Datin Ir. Ts. Zailani Mohd. Ali, Datin Wan Maizurina Wan Othman, Abd. Hamid Majid, Haji Wan Abdul Rashid Wan Abdul Rahman, Professor Dr. Shamsuddin Baharin, Hajah Siti Fatimah Haji Ahmad Zabidi and Norhamizah Mohd. Hassan.
At the same time, the ceremony also commiserated the loss of five UMP staff who had returned to the Almighty this year, namely the late Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Zakri Ghazalli, Ahmad Zainuddin Mohamed, Hasahudin Hassan, Mohd Azemi Yunus and Ustaz Amidi Osman.
May their souls be showered with blessings and placed among the believers.
