UMPSA celebrates 14 hajj pilgrims
KUANTAN, 8 May 2024 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) celebrated 14 UMPSA staff members who will perform hajj this year.
The event took place at the Banquet Hall, UMPSA Gambang Campus.
Among the staff who are lucky to be guests of Allah SWT are Irman Khalil, Department of Knowledge Management and Information Technology, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Aishah Abu Bakar, Faculty of Civil Engineering Technology, Mrs. Haslinda@Robita Hashim, Centre for Human Sciences, Dr. Asmida Ideris, Dr. Khairatun Najwa Mohd Amin, Dr. Aainaa Nafsun and Ts. Mohd Najib Razali, Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering Technology, and Dr. Nor Rul Hasma Abdullah and Faradila Naim, Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology.
Others are Dr. Umi Kalsom Masrom, Centre for Modern Languages, Ts. Dr. Siti Suhaila Abdul Hamid, Faculty of Computing, Ts. Dr. Nurul ’Azyyati Sabri, Faculty of Industrial Science and Technology (FSTI), Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Sham Mohamad, Centre for Mathematical Sciences and Mohd Azhar Kahar, Centre for Property Management and Development.
The event was attended by the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs), Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rusllim Mohamed, Registrar, Dato’ Saiful Bahri Ahmad Bakarim, Chief Librarian, Kamariah Gono and Legal Advisor, Marlina Mamat.
Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin congratulated the staff on being the guests of Allah this year.
He also advised that all pilgrims be patient when performing the hajj.
“In addition, take care of your health so that you can achieve perfection in performing the hajj,” he said.
He also handed over contributions from the Association for the Welfare and Wellbeing of Staff (SEJAHTERA) to the hajj pilgrims.
According to one of the hajj pilgrims, Ts. Dr. Nurul ’Azyyati Sabri, she did not expect to be chosen to perform hajj at a young age.
“I am grateful to be chosen to perform hajj at this age.
“Furthermore, I will go to the holy land with seven members of my family including my mother and father and four other siblings.
“My mother registered hajj for all of us in 2009 and alhamdulillah this year we are all chosen to perform hajj together,” she said.
Ts. Mohd Najib Razali expressed his gratitude for performing hajj with his wife who is also a UMPSA staff, Faradila Naim.
He also expressed his gratitude for the concern of the university which held a ceremony to celebrate UMPSA hajj pilgrims and hoped everything would go well there.
