Fatini Nasuha’s Leadership and Volunteering Dedication Recognised at MARS 2023 Awards
KUANTAN, 18 May 2024 – Fatini Nasuha Ahmad Puad, a student of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) was named the Promising Student Figure at the 2023 Mercu Sanjungan Award (MARS) Ceremony held at Zenith Hotel, Kuantan recently.
This recognition is given for her outstanding contribution to community service and volunteerism activities.
She took home a cash prize of RM700, a certificate and a trophy.
Fatini Nasuha was active in various social service programmes organised by the university and Yayasan UMPSA including the International Mobility Programme ‘To Give Them Hope’ in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam as a project manager, as well as volunteer programmes such as Kembara Prihatin@Semporna and Tuaran, Sabah.
Currently, she is also involved as the project manager of Kembara Prihatin@Bumi Kenyalang 2.0 which will be held in August.
She also held the position of President of Residential Student Representative 3 for two consecutive years for the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 sessions.
In addition, Fatini held various other positions such as Director of the 2023 Women’s Appreciation Carnival (KASWITA), Deputy Director of the Indahnya Ramadan Carnival and speaker for the Programme Reporting Workshop.
In this role, Fatini demonstrated exceptional leadership by planning and executing important events that require high coordination and cooperation.
Fatini’s leadership showed her dedication and commitment in every task entrusted, making her an example to other students.
Fatini also won a gold medal in the 14th Creation, Innovation, Technology & Research Exposition (CITREX) 2024 and Research and Innovation Award in the 2023 Yayasan UMPSA Appreciation Ceremony.
The prize was presented by the Chairman of the University Board of Directors, Dato’ Seri Abdul Razak Jaafar.
Also present were the UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, member of the University Board of Directors and top management of the university.
Professor Dato’ Yuserrie in his speech stated that the high performance and commitment of the winners in co-curricular activities over the past year was splendid.
“Hopefully this recognition can be an inspiration and ignite the enthusiasm of other students to continue their activities.
“All student involvement will be recorded in the Student Development System and displayed in the co-curricular transcript as the second transcript which is expected to help them get a good job,” he said.
Fatini Nasuha, who was moved by this recognition, expressed her gratitude and wanted to present this achievement to her parents.
“I am determined to stay active in volunteering and helping those in need,” she said.
