“This Convocation Expo serves as a manifestation of students’ spirit in developing soft skills and entrepreneurial abilities, while providing them the opportunity to manage large-scale university programmes.
“This year, the 20th UMPSA Convocation Expo is anchored on the concept of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as the main foundation of the event, in line with the slogan ‘Sustainable for a Generation’.
“This concept emphasises the balance between technological advancement, innovation, and development with environmental preservation and community well-being.
“The chosen theme reflects UMPSA’s aspiration to educate and nurture graduates who are competitive and responsible for the nation’s future,” she said.
Professor Dr. Yatimah also mentioned that, through various exhibitions, forums, and interactive activities, the expo serves as an important platform to showcase sustainable initiatives, green technologies, and new ideas that add value not only to the campus community but also to the local and national communities.
“The 20th UMPSA Convocation Expo not only celebrates graduates’ success but also symbolises the integration of knowledge, values, and social responsibility, aligning with the university’s vision of producing a sustainable and knowledgeable Madani generation,” she said.
In addition, more than 50 programmes based on general, Madani and unity, spiritual and cultural, as well as sports concepts were organised, making this expo more inclusive and comprehensive in supporting the spirit of Malaysia MADANI.
These activities not only benefit students but also open up opportunities for collaboration with government agencies, industries, and the community to strengthen the educational ecosystem and expand UMPSA’s strategic network.
At the same time, as the only university in Malaysia to receive the Eco-Campus Green Flag Award, UMPSA continues to demonstrate excellence in implementing green and sustainable practices across its campuses.
This recognition aligns with the university’s efforts to strengthen its sustainability agenda in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework and the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI.
To support the Campus Sustainability Agenda, UMPSA has developed the Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Ecosystem, which demonstrates UMPSA’s strong commitment to integrating research, innovation, and technology transfer to advance smart mobility and future vehicle development in Malaysia.
This comprehensive ecosystem encompasses six main pillars that position UMPSA as the national leader and reference expert in AV and EV fields, while producing human capital capable of driving the future of smart mobility and supporting the nation’s green technology aspirations, in line with this year’s convocation expo theme.
