Donation of school supplies for 103 UMP staff children
KUANTAN, 24 March 2022 – Receiving new school supplies encourages children to go to school after dealing with pandemic situations and Movement Control Orders (MCO) for the past two years.
Recently, a total of 103 UMP staff received donations of school supplies in conjunction with the Back To School programme organised by Yayasan UMP and the Registry Department held at both UMP Pekan and Gambang campuses.
The handover session was attended by the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin accompanied by the Acting Registrar, Hazmin Aris, President of UMP Women’s Association, Datin Dr. Mazita Mokhtar and the Chief Executive of Yayasan UMP, Mohd Jamil Mohd Ja’afar.
According to Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie, this sixth Back to School programme was organised to ease the burden of staff in need.
“Such a programme is also an annual community charity programme that aims to help prepare students to return to school by targeting people in need, especially from rural areas.
“Hopefully this donation can alleviate the school expenses for underprivileged staff.
“Every child receives a pair of clothes, school bag, shoes and stationeries,” he said.
They also thanked the contributions from corporate companies and agencies such as Perodua, Alha Alfa, UMP Women’s Association (Matahari), UMP Holdings and UMP Advanced especially through the fundraising from the Tok Gajah Virtual Challenge programme initiative held last year.
