Son of machinery guard, Cho Bo Wen receives Malakoff Excellence Award
PAYA BESAR, 6 November 2022 – The recipient of the Malakoff Corporation Bhd. Excellence Award, Cho Bo Wen aspires to become a successful engineer in the future.
The graduand of Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with Honours (Electronics), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) successfully graduated with a CGPA of 3.91.
He said he hoped to help the public and utilise all the knowledge learned at UMP.
The award was presented by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin on the second day of the convocation ceremony.
The son of the machinery guard, Cho Kum Wai, 53 and Teh Sok Peng, 51, said the academic curriculum provided by UMP is very holistic in preparing the students to work.
“The approach provided not only covers the theoretical aspects but also allows the students to apply what they learn.
“The Open Specialisation Programme Certificate (SPPT) also enables students to learn various knowledge outside their field of study.
“The sweet memory of studying at UMP was when my group was awarded the best students award in the IEM Young Engineers National Summit 2021 (NATSUM 2021) which took place during the Movement Control Order (MCO),” he said when met at the UMP 17th Convocation Ceremony.
