UMPSA forges sustainability cooperation with Tanah Makmur Berhad
PEKAN, 26 June 2024 – The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Exchange Ceremony between Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) and Tanah Makmur Berhad (TMB), along with a Sharing Session by the Chief Executive Officer of TMB, Dato' Shahrul Nizam Abdul Aziz, took place at the UMPSA Banquet Hall recently.
Cooperation began through the MBA Business Forum 2023 programme organized by the Faculty of Industrial Management (FPI), UMPSA, where Dato' Shahrul Nizam Abdul Aziz was invited as one of the panelists.
Since TMB is a champion in the Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) Agenda in Pahang, the UMPSA Sustainability Development Centre has used this opportunity to collaborate in the field of ESG with the industry.
The cooperation outlined by both parties includes research studies, case studies, corporate social responsibility programs with the community, industrial talks, and forums.
According to UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato' Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, the signing of this MoU will create more opportunities for UMPSA, especially the Sustainability Development Centre (SDG/ESG), in coordinating cooperation with TMB, including training, research and innovation, writing, publishing, consulting, and think tanks on SDG/ESG.
"Long-term benefits will be obtained through collaboration that will involve students, staff, industry, and the local community.
"This pioneering collaboration will inspire TMB's availability in channelling research grant funds through several projects, accepting students for industrial training, and providing employment opportunities for UMPSA graduates, as well as other equivalent benefits.
"Hopefully, this cooperation will further strengthen the network of stakeholder relations between the industry in Pahang and UMPSA," he added.
The ceremony witnessed the exchange of a memorandum of understanding between UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato' Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, and Chief Executive Officer of TMB, Dato' Shahrul Nizam Abd Aziz.
