UMP awarded its first Vice-Chancellor Quality Award to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FKM) is celebrating its first Vice-Chancellor Quality Award (AKNC), the first departmental award since it was introduced in the year 2012 by the University Malaysia Pahang (UMP). The award is based on the criteria set by the Prime Minister’s Innovation Award (AIPM) in recognition to the significant achievements of the faculty in the three main criteria namely faculty’s organization, core service, and client management. Besides fulfilling these three main criteria, FKM has once again positioned itself in the QS Ranking by Subject; the only subject in UMP to be listed globally.
Additionally, the faculty has also succeeded in elevating UMPs’ recognition worldwide through collaboration with overseas Universities. In academic partnerships, jointly offering programme with Universities in Germany has been able to attract many students by providing a cheaper alternative to studying oversea degree. With higher graduate employability rate, FKM is efficiently fulfilling the current national industry and mega project skilled workforce demand.
This achievement has inspired other faculties in the university to be national and international leaders in the Engineering and Technology human capital development and research.
