UMPSA expands its partnership network with Gebeng Industries
KUANTAN, 9 October 2023 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) is broadening its collaboration network with industries in Gebeng to establish partnerships with industry peers in mutually agreed fields alongside the university.
The programme, organized by the Centre for Industry and Community Linkages (PJIM) and the Research & Innovation Department (JPI), in collaboration with the Gebeng Industrial Support Group (GISG), aims to share information and insights with Gebeng industries regarding UMPSA's expertise in solving industrial challenges.
According to the Chairman of the University Board of Directors, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman, he expressed gratitude for the commitment shown by industry partners in making UMPSA a strategic collaborator to drive excellence and shared strategic needs.
"With the expertise and technology resulting from this collaboration, we will further enhance the success of high-impact programmes and open up more opportunities and exploration in related fields," he stated.
At present, UMPSA has 10 researchers listed among the top two percent of world scientists in the Career-Long Achievement category, and 20 UMPSA researchers have achieved recognition for Single Year Achievements.
The event was attended by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Professor Dr. Kamal Zuhairi Zamli, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs), Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman, and the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community Linkages), Professor Datin Ts. Dr. Mimi Sakinah Abdul Munaim, along with university management.
Simultaneously, the ceremony witnessed the exchange of memoranda of agreement (MoA) involving the Director and Managing Director of Kaneka (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., Tuan Syed Ahmad Idrus Alhabshi, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BASF Petronas Chemicals Sdn. Bhd., Marko Murtonen, the CEO of Petronas Chemicals MTBE Sdn. Bhd., Haji Ahmad Zaiyan Mohd Kassim, and the Managing Director of Camel Power (M) Sdn. Bhd., Jerry Xue Shihua.
