47 Babaker-sponsored students celebrate Eid at UMPSA

PEKAN, 16 April 2024 - Syawal continued to be celebrated in the Aidilfitri Celebration Ceremony with international students of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) at Banquet Hall, UMPSA Pekan recently.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin and 47 students from Yemen, Jordan, Syria, Saudi Arabia and others.

The ceremony was a continuation of Babaker’s efforts in strengthening friendly relations between UMPSA, staff and international students.

Babaker is a strategic partner of the Centre for International Relations, UMPSA in international student scholarship management.

Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie was very honoured to be able to celebrate the students sponsored by Babaker who celebrated Aidilfitri abroad without their loved ones.

“We held an Eid Celebration with Babaker-sponsored students which is one of the initiatives to reach out to international students,” he said.

Also present were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs), Professor Ir. Ts.  Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman, Director of the Centre for International Relations (CIR), Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Azmir Mohd Zahari and Senior Manager, Student Affairs and Alumni Department, Haryani Abdullah.

This programme also opened up opportunities for the international community to get to know the local community as well as strengthen ukhuwah.

The programme ended with an interesting presentation by students from Yemen.
