UMPSA establishes collaboration with Islamic Azad University, Iran
IRAN, 8 October 2023 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) continues to strengthen its name through visibility and reputation as a leading technological university by signing an MoU related to science and technology with the Islamic Azad University, the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is the world's largest comprehensive educational institution.
During the event, the Honourable Minister of Higher Education, Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, and the President of the Islamic Azad University, Professor Dr. Mohamad Mehdi Teranchi, were present to witness the signing ceremony and the exchange of Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) between the Vice-Chancellor of UMPSA, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, and the Chancellor of the Islamic Azad University (Isfahan Branch), Professor Dr. Payam Najafi.
According to the Vice-Chancellor of UMPSA, Professor Dato' Ts. Dr. Yuserrie, in line with the shared priorities of both universities, this collaboration touches on research related to climate change challenges, sustainability, cybersecurity, nanotechnology, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence (AI).
"Furthermore, the collaboration involves academic areas, students, and joint publications, such as staff exchanges, student mobility, knowledge commercialization, and collaboration with science and technology parks," he stated.
Meanwhile, during his public lecture, Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin emphasized the need for higher education institutions to collaborate with the external world to address global issues such as climate change, food security, and education.
He also urged scientists in higher education institutions to work together with scientists in the Islamic Republic of Iran to leverage their expertise in their respective fields.
