UMPSA and SOCSO launch Pahang State MyOKUCentre

PEKAN, 15 October 2024 – The Pahang State Social Security Organisation (SOCSO), in collaboration with the Disability Services Unit of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (OkUMPSA), successfully organised the launch ceremony of the Pahang State MyOKUCentre Project. 

The event was held at the Main Lecture Hall of the Centre for Modern Languages (CML), UMPSA. 

The ceremony was officiated by Mazlina Mohamed @ Mohamad Lazem, the official representative of the Honourable Dato’ Sabariah Saidan, Pahang State Social Welfare, Women, and Family Development Exco, and Chairperson of the Pahang State Disability Advisory Council (MPO).

UMPSA and SOCSO launch Pahang State MyOKUCentre

The MyOKUCentre project is an initiative proposed by Pahang State SOCSO through the Economic and Employment Subcommittee of the Pahang State Disability Advisory Council (MPO) in 2024. 

It aims to coordinate and assist agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in profiling jobseeker data and facilitating job matching.

The Community Rehabilitation Organisation (PPDK DAMAi), an integral part of UMPSA’s inclusive ecosystem, has been selected as the sole MyOKUCentre in the Pekan district, Pahang.

The launch ceremony was attended by the Chairperson and supervisors of PPDK, who were appointed to lead the MyOKUCentre initiative, totalling 40 participants.

Additionally, 25 final-year UMPSA students participated in the profiling programme, which included a MyFutureJobs Portal Briefing session.

Also present at the event were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Professor Ts Dr Mohd Rusllim Mohamed; Pahang State SOCSO Director, Hamzi Hanifa Mahyuddin; OkUMPSA Director, Dr Munira Abdul Razak; and Principal Assistant Director of the Disabled and Elderly Division, Pahang State Social Welfare Department, Haslinda Abd Samad.
