UMPSA journals become knowledge platform, receive recognition at 16th MAPIM–KPT Award
PUTRAJAYA, 9 December 2025 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) Press continues to strengthen its reputation as a prestigious academic publisher when two articles published in its journals received recognition at the 16th MAPIM–KPT Award, thereby elevating UMPSA’s role as a high-impact knowledge platform.
The first-place winner for the Best Journal Article category (Science and Technology) – International Index was awarded to the article titled ‘The Behaviour of Ternary Hybrid Nanofluid: Graphene Oxide, Aluminium Oxide, Silicon Dioxide in Heat Transfer Rate’ published in the Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Sciences (JMES) in 2024.

This article was produced by Associate Professor Ir. Dr Irnie Azlin Zakaria, a lecturer from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) as the corresponding author, together with Fadhilah Mohd Hanapiah and Nurlisa Hamzan, as well as Siti Rabizah Makhsin from the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre, United Kingdom.
This study makes an important contribution to the field of heat transfer using hybrid nanofluid technology, which has the potential to improve the efficiency of cooling and energy systems.
Meanwhile, for the Best Journal Article category (Social Sciences and Humanities) – National Index, the second-place winner was secured by the article titled ‘From Complexity to Clarity: A DEMATEL Analysis of Critical Blockchain Technology Adoption Factors’ published in the Journal of Governance and Integrity (publication year 2024).

This article was produced by Associate Professor Ts Dr Lee Chia Kuang, a lecturer at the Faculty of Industrial Management (FPI), UMPSA, as the corresponding author, together with Marián Bujna (University of Agriculture, Slovakia) and Jankin Abdul Rahman (UMPSA).
This study uses the DEMATEL (Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory) approach to analyse critical factors in blockchain technology adoption.
The award presentation ceremony was held on 9 December 2025 at Dewan Za’ba, Ministry of Higher Education, Putrajaya, and was officiated by the Deputy Director-General of Higher Education (Academic and Research), Department of Higher Education, MOHE, Professor Dr Zainal Amin Ayub.
According to the Vice-Chancellor of UMPSA, Professor Dr Yatimah Alias, this success proves UMPSA’s role not only as a centre of knowledge but also as a prestigious publisher and a scholarly publishing platform that supports high-impact research at national and international levels.
“In line with the UMPSA Strategic Plan, we will continue to strengthen the quality publishing ecosystem through digitalisation, global strategic networks, and the development of scholarly talent to ensure that UMPSA remains a key reference on the world stage,” she said.
Meanwhile, according to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Professor Ts. Dr Aida Mustapha, quality publishing is the main pillar of the research ecosystem.
“As scholars, we are responsible for ensuring that research outcomes are disseminated widely through indexed and high-impact channels, and UMPSA will continue to strengthen support for researchers through strategic networks and innovation,” she said.
The Director of UMPSA Press, Ts. Dr Rozaimi Abu Samah said that as the official publisher, UMPSA Press is committed to ensuring that every journal complies with international indexed publishing standards.
“This achievement elevates the name of UMPSA and proves that our journals serve as a knowledge platform and a key reference in their respective fields.
“This success not only brings honour to UMPSA, but also strengthens the position of UMPSA Press as a quality academic publisher in Malaysia and on the international stage,” he explained.
