27 UMPSA student leaders promise to shoulder responsibilities
KUANTAN, 11 January 2023 - A total of 27 students pledged and signed the oath of the Students’ Representative Council (MPP) of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) Session 2023/2024 before the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin at the ceremony held at Swiss-Belhotel Kuantan.
This programme was also joined by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rusllim Mohamed and the top management of UMPSA.
The swearing-in ceremony was chaired by the Speaker of MPP Session 2023/2024, Muhammad Haykal Halid, followed by other students.
Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie congratulated the MPP Session 2023/2024 and expressed his gratitude to the MPP Session 2022/2023.
He said that a leader appointed to the MPP should fully support efforts to raise and uphold scholarly values.
“This trust is very meaningful and needs to be carried out with sincerity and honesty.
“It is the highest recognition given to student leaders to be implemented well.
“The leaders place education, knowledge and manners as the main pillars,” he said.
Therefore, he called on the leaders to play an effective role as a liaison between university management and students to realise the trust that the majority of students and university management have given.
In addition, MPP should act professionally within a strategically directed planning framework.
