UMP ranked 301-400 in THE Impact Rankings
Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) is ranked 301st-400th and 8th in Malaysia in the global impact rating Time Higher Education (THE Global Impact Ranking) announced on 27 April 2022.
In contrast to other world ratings, THE Impact Rankings focuses on 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to inculcate harmony and prosperity in nature as well as global society. According to the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, it was UMP’s first participation. “In this edition, UMP participated in five goals, namely SDGs 4, 6, 7, 9 and 17 and UMP is listed in all the SDGs. “UMP is ranked 301st-400th for SDG4 Quality Education and for SDG6 Clean Water and Sanitation, UMP is ranked 101st-200th. “UMP also excels in SDG7 Affordable and Clean Energy when it is ranked 67th, and this demonstrates UMP’s role in energy efficiency, renewable energy and its role in the community,” he said. UMP, HKA establish international collaboration in Dual Degree in Electrical Engineering (Electronics)
Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) signed a partnership with Hochshcule Karlsruhe (HKA) Germany to carry out the UMP-HKA Dual Degree in Electrical Engineering (Electronics) programme. The Dual Degree in Electrical Engineering (Electronics) programme is the third dual degree programme with HKA after a successful 12 years of collaboration in mechatronics and automotive engineering programmes. This collaboration will benefit from sharing expertise in education, research, staff and student exchanges, and industrial training. The event saw the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (FTKEE), Associate Professor Dr. Hamdan Daniyal sign an agreement with HKA President, Professor Dr.-Ing. Frank Artinger in conjunction with the UMP delegation’s working visit to Germany. Also present were the Chairman of the UMP Board of Directors, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman and Assistant Vice-Chancellor, Industrial and Community Collaboration Division, Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Nurul Hazlina UMP and HsMA Germany are offering dual degree programme in business engineering
The strategic collaboration between Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and Mannheim University of Applied Sciences (HsMA) will expand international academic collaboration in leading German engineering education (Fachhochschule) in the country. This collaboration will benefit from sharing expertise in education, research, staff and student exchanges, and industrial training. The programme saw Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin who performs the functions of UMP Vice-Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Management (FPI), Dr. Mohd. Ahmad Hanafiah signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA). While HsMA was represented by the Rector of HsMA, Professor Dr. Astrid Hedtke-Becker and the Head of Department of the Faculty of Engineering and Management, Professor Dr. Mathias Hafner who signed the agreement online. Also present to witness the ceremony was the Chairman of the UMP Board of Directors, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman and the German Ambassador to Malaysia, TYT Dr. Peter Blomeyer. According to Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz, UMP and HsMA agreed to offer a Business Engineering programme starting the following intake. |
