UMPSA advances global networks at EAIE 2025 and official visit to Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden
GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN, 9 September 2025 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) participated in the European Association for International Education (EAIE) 2025 Conference in Gothenburg, Sweden, with a mission to strengthen global academic and research collaborations.
The participation also focused on expanding opportunities through Erasmus+ programmes such as Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE), International Credit Mobility (KA171), as well as Joint Master initiatives and Research Partnerships.
This platform opened opportunities for student exchanges, staff training, curriculum development, and collaborative research with leading universities worldwide.
The UMPSA delegation, led by Director of UMPSA Global, Associate Profesor Ts. Dr. Herma Dina Setiabudi together with International Relations Officer, Nur Ezzati Mohd Nasir, held a series of strategic meetings with universities from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
The discussions emphasised CBHE projects that enhance institutional capacity through knowledge-sharing, while also highlighting KA171 opportunities to broaden staff and student exchanges beyond Europe.

Key topics included the development of dual degree programmes, global classroom initiatives, joint PhD supervision, and collaborative research in sustainable energy, digitalisation, and future engineering technologies.
Commenting on UMPSA’s participation, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Herma Dina Setiabudi remarked, EAIE 2025 has been a valuable platform for UMPSA to strengthen global networks and explore new collaborations.
“These engagements are key in positioning UMPSA as a leading technical university with a strong global presence,” she said.
UMPSA also succeeded in expanding its strategic partnerships with several universities.
Among them, Université de Technologie de Troyes (UTT), France, where discussions centred on staff and student mobility and joint research in engineering.
At Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Spain, the focus was on Erasmus KA171 mobility and research projects.

Collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), United Kingdom, targeted student mobility enhancement and joint research opportunities, while Warsaw University of Technology (WUT), Poland, explored partnerships in digital technology, engineering, and staff capacity development.
