UMPSA introduces LibGO application, book borrowing now easier and faster
PEKAN, 3 April 2026 – In line with the wave of digitalisation, the Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) Library is moving forward by introducing a new book borrowing method through the LibGO mobile app.
This initiative not only strengthens the concept of self-service and a seamless user experience but also offers a smoother, faster, and more technology-friendly user experience to the campus community.
Through the LibGO app, users only need to use their smartphones to scan library materials before borrowing them directly.
In addition to book borrowing, LibGO provides services such as book renewal, fine payment, and overdue material notifications, giving users greater flexibility to manage their borrowing at any time.

According to the Deputy Chief Librarian, Noorul Farina Arifin, the use of this app supports the UMPSA30 Strategic Objective: Empowering Data-Driven Smart Campus Solutions (Strategic Objective 2A).
“It is hoped that the LibGO app will become a catalyst for the transformation of library services towards a more dynamic and sustainable digital ecosystem.
“Through this app, users can access services independently, thereby increasing efficiency, productivity, as well as the satisfaction level of students and UMPSA Library users,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Senior Library Assistant, Mohd Azfarshah Azizan, said that LibGO has the potential to become the main reference platform for users in matters related to the library.
“Although this app began as a material borrowing platform, it can be expanded with various facilities such as online payment, latest information, and other additional functions,” he said.
The LibGO app can be used by both Android and iPhone (iOS) users, making it more easily accessible to all levels of the university community, regardless of the type of device used.
According to a student from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology (FTKEE), Haikal Mohammed Zubil, the use of LibGO greatly facilitates students in searching for and borrowing books, while fine payments can also be made online.

“The LibGO app also provides a link to the e-exam system, which facilitates student access to related services,” he said.
The introduction of LibGO is part of the UMPSA Library’s efforts towards strengthening the self-service library concept and supporting the university’s service digitalisation agenda.
