UMPSA Vice-Chancellor presents promotion letters to five university lecturers
PEKAN, 7 April 2026 – A total of five academic staff members of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) received promotions in a presentation session held today.
The Vice-Chancellor of UMPSA, Professor Ts. Dr. Yatimah Alias presented the promotion letter to the lecturer from the Faculty of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering Technology (FTKMA), Professor Dr. Rizalman Mamat, who was promoted to the position of Professor, Special Grade B (VK6).
Also receiving promotion letters were the lecturer from the Faculty of Civil Engineering Technology (FTKA), Professor Ts. Dr. Muzamir Hasan, and the lecturer from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology (FTKEE), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Herwan Sulaiman, who were promoted to the position of Professor, Special Grade C (VK7).
Similarly, lecturers from the Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology (FSTI), Associate Professor ChM. Dr. Izan Izwan Misnon and Associate Professor Dr. Rasidi Roslan were promoted as University Lecturers, Grade DS14 (Associate Professor).
In her speech, Professor Ts. Dr. Yatimah expressed her pride and extended her highest congratulations to all recipients.
She described the promotions as something highly valuable and a shared success for both the individuals and the university.
“The effort and excellence demonstrated thus far must continue and be further championed.
“I sincerely hope that our Professors and Associate Professors will intensify their mentoring and guidance efforts.
“May more academic leadership talents emerge to become subject matter experts who continue guiding the next generation towards future excellence,” she said.
She added that the open process for promotion matters at UMPSA is fundamentally intended to provide continuous motivation and encouragement to all officers to view it as an opportunity for future career development.
Meanwhile, Professor Dr. Rizalman described this recognition as a manifestation of the university’s trust in his contributions.
“Thank you for the continuous support.
“I view this promotion as a great responsibility for me to continue contributing not only to the university, but also to the nation,” he said.
Meanwhile, for Professor Ts. Dr. Muzamir, the promotion is highly significant as it coincides with his 20th year of service at UMPSA.
In addition, he acknowledged that it comes with even greater responsibilities.
The same sentiment was echoed by Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Herwan, who described this opportunity as motivation for him to broaden his academic career and share his expertise with more academics at UMPSA for mutual benefit.
Meanwhile, Associate Professor ChM. Dr. Izan Izwan is determined to remain dedicated to contributing to the university.
Likewise, Associate Professor Dr. Rasidi is determined to elevate UMPSA’s name to a higher level.
“I will enhance mentoring activities, particularly by leveraging expertise and networking with industry and external parties.
“This initiative is also fully supported by the Vice-Chancellor,” he said.
At the same time, the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering Technology (FTKMA), Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Mohd Fairusham Ghazali expressed the faculty’s commitment to continue providing a platform and full support for the career development of its academics.
Similarly, the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Technology (FTKA), Associate Professor Dr. Noram Irwan Ramli, expressed confidence in the recipients’ qualifications and placed high hopes that this recognition would further boost initiatives in securing external grants for the university.
This promotion not only stands as a testament to individual excellence but also strengthens UMPSA’s aspiration to continue producing credible and relevant scholars on the national higher education stage in line with the UMPSA Strategic Plan 2026–2030.
