48 administrative and academic staff in UMPSA Management and Professional Group promoted

PEKAN, 23 March 2025 – A total of 48 administrative and academic staff in the Management and Professional Group of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) received their promotion letters from the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Yatimah Alias, in a ceremony held at the Senate Hall, Chancellery Tun Abdul Razak.

The One-off Promotion Implementation involved officers in Grades 9, 10, and 12 under the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA).

Professor Dr. Yatimah extended her gratitude and appreciation to all the officers for this golden opportunity.

“I aspire to empower the administrators so that together we can further develop UMPSA.

“It is my sincere hope that the administrators will contribute to advancing UMPSA as a leading institution in academic excellence, research, and the development of globally competitive human capital.

“Make the most of this opportunity,” she said.

She also expressed hope that this promotion would boost motivation and enthusiasm in carrying out their duties more effectively, continuing to contribute to UMPSA’s progress.

This promotion exercise is part of the career path improvement initiative under the SSPA, aimed at recognising contributions and enhancing the motivation of university staff to perform with excellence.

At the same time, Professor Dr. Yatimah conveyed her appreciation and congratulations to the UMPSA community as the university remains the first institution to receive Sijil Bersih from the National Audit Department (JAN) for the 13th time and the first among public agencies for the preparation of the 2024 Financial Statements.

This achievement reflects the strong cooperation and commitment of all parties, particularly UMPSA’s Responsibility Centres (PTj), in implementing financial management in accordance with international accounting standards set by the National Audit Department.

Also present at the ceremony were the Registrar, Dato’ Saiful Bahri Ahmad Bakarim, Bursar, Dato’ Zainudin Othman, Deans, PTj Directors, and Senior Managers, as well as the Registrar’s Department representative, Haji Abdul Shukur Ishak.

At the event, five administrative staff received promotions to permanent grades, 41 administrative staff were promoted under the One-off Scheme, and four academic staff were also promoted under the One-off Scheme.
