The Malaysia-China Advanced TVET Mobility Programme (MyChat24) offers students a unique experience

​PEKAN, 2 July 2024 – The Malaysia-China Advanced TVET Mobility Programme (MyChat24) Phase 3 recently took place at Liuzhou Railway Vocational Technical College (LRVTC), China, lasting nine days.

A total of 34 students and four staff members from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) received certificates of completion for training and skills from LRVTC, presented by its President, Qin Haibo, during a ceremony held at LRVTC.

In addition to UMPSA students and staff, 40 participants from other institutions of higher learning (HEIs) also received certificates. These institutions included Malaysia Rail Development Corporation (MRDC), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL), Pahang Skills Development Centre (Pahang Skills), Kuantan Industrial Training Institute (ILP Kuantan), and Masjid Tanah Community College, Melaka.

LRVTC commended the participants' commitment during the training session and expressed hope that the knowledge and skills imparted by the teaching staff would enhance the participants' expertise in rail maintenance and operation.

Darwishah, a second-year student from the Faculty of Civil Engineering Technology (FTKA), UMPSA, who participated in the programme, shared his enthusiasm about the experience.

"This programme gave me the opportunity to learn new things and contribute to society. I hope to make the most of this opportunity to improve my skills. 

“The facilities provided during the course were very complete and modern," he said.

He further explained that the hands-on fieldwork helped him better understand the concepts taught by the lecturers.

"In addition to learning new skills, I had the chance to learn about the culture and traditions of the local community. This mobility programme also broadened my understanding of values, ethics, and positive practices from foreign countries, which I can apply in daily life," he added.

The International Mobility Programme aligns with UMPSA's 2021-2025 Strategic Plan, specifically Strategic Objective 6, which focuses on Student Internationalization and Entrepreneurship. 
This initiative is part of the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) under the Critical Agenda Program (CAPS) of internationalization in the National Higher Education Strategic Plan (PSTPN).
