MoHE Minister celebrates UMPSA students during Ramadan Semarak Programme
GAMBANG, 4 April 2024 - Minister of Higher Education, Yang Berhormat Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir continued his tour of the MoHE’s Semarak Ramadan programme by visiting Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) recently.
His arrival was welcomed by the UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, the top management and student leaders.
Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir was present in conjunction with the iftar ceremony with His Majesty Tengku Mahkota Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah with 2,000 UMPSA students.
He had a friendly meeting with university students before the iftar ceremony followed by Maghrib, Isha and Tarawih prayers.
After the prayer, Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir also had the opportunity to have moreh (supper) with UMPSA residents and participate in preparing dodol and wajik.
There was also the flag off of the UMPSA Road Safety campaign ‘Pandu Cermat, Sampai Selamat’ in conjunction with the time to go back to the village for the upcoming Aidilfitri holiday.
The campaign organised by the Student Affairs and Alumni Department in collaboration with Yayasan UMPSA and UMPSA Students’ Representative Council included a safety briefing, provision of vests and sharing of safety information as well as the donation of petrol to 250 motorcycles and 40 cars belonging to students.
The MoHE Ramadan Semarak Programme is a series of MoHE Minister’s Ramadan excursions to Public Institutions of Higher Learning (IPTA) filled with religious activities while meeting the management, administrators, teaching staff and students.
