UMPSA distributes 3,000 bubur lambuk and gulai kawah to Kuantanese

KUANTAN, 12 March 2025 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) distributed bubur lambuk and gulai kawah for free to the Kuantanese through a communal work initiative involving student and staff volunteers from the Student Affairs and Alumni Department (JHEPA), UMPSA Advanced Education, Maxis Berhad, and Masjid Sultan Ahmad 1, recently.

This annual programme, held in conjunction with the Indahnya Ramadan 2025 Festival, took place at Masjid Sultan Ahmad 1.

It reflected the spirit of cooperation and unity in welcoming the blessed month of Ramadan.

Also present were the Vice-Chancellor of UMPSA, Professor Dr. Yatimah Alias, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs), Professor Dato’ Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rusllim Mohamed, and JHEPA General Manager, Haryani Abdullah.

According to Professor Dr. Yatimah, a total of six large pots of bubur lambuk were cooked from early morning through communal effort.

“This is not only an effort to help the local community but also a platform to strengthen the relationship between the campus community and the public.

“Throughout the month of Ramadan, various events have been planned, including the bubur lambuk programme, Moh Sahur with RTM, Singgah Sahur, Kenduri Rewang programme, and several programmes with corporate partners and agencies for students and the local community.

“This programme fosters a spirit of togetherness in welcoming the month of Ramadan, which is full of blessings and grace,” she said.

She also noted that with the cooperation of all parties, including Maxis Berhad and UMPSA Advanced Education, UMPSA is able to provide even more benefits to those in need.

“We welcome the practice of communal work and food-sharing programmes organised at various levels, including at faculties, departments, associations, or clubs.

“In addition, the university highly appreciates the contributions from corporate bodies, external agencies, and individuals to the Yayasan UMPSA Fund throughout this month of Ramadan,” she added.
