UMPSA performs korban ritual in conjunction with Aidiladha 1446H

GAMBANG, 10 June 2025 – In conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), through the Centre for Islamic and Human Development (PIMPIN), in collaboration with the Institute of Postgraduate Studies (IPS) and the UMPSA Postgraduate Association 2025 (PGA 2025), organised the Ibadah Korban programme involving the slaughtering of nine cows at UMPSA Gambang Campus.

The programme received support from various parties, including contributions of two cows from Maybank, one from RHB Bank, and six from UMPSA staff.

UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr Yatimah Alias, expressed gratitude for the encouraging response and participation among the campus community.

“The implementation of this programme not only enlivens the Islamic spirit in conjunction with Aidiladha but also strengthens the values of togetherness and care within the campus community.

“Alhamdulillah, I am truly thankful and proud of the commitment shown by all UMPSA members.

“The spirit of communal work demonstrated through this korban programme reflects the strength of unity and the caring values that are always nurtured within the campus community,” she said.

A total of 140 staff and students were actively involved in the slaughtering, skinning, and distribution processes of the korban meat.

UMPSA management also extended appreciation to all contributors and volunteers who made this annual programme a success.
