UMPSA reaches out to the community, distributing bubur lambuk in conjunction with Beauty of Ramadan Programme

KUANTAN, 9 March 2026 – In enlivening the blessings of the month of Ramadan, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) continued its tradition of sharing blessings by organising the Bubur Lambuk Programme at the grounds of Sultan Ahmad 1 State Mosque, Kuantan.

The programme, which formed part of the Beauty of Ramadan initiative organised by the Student Affairs and Alumni Department (JHEPA), saw the preparation and distribution of bubur lambuk to the local community as well as mosque visitors.

As early as 7.00 am, the UMPSA task force began preparations by bringing cooking ingredients from UMPSA Gambang Campus before the bubur lambuk cooking activity was carried out through communal work by the university community.

The programme was further enlivened by the presence of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ts. Dr. Yatimah Alias, who also distributed bubur lambuk to the community around the mosque.

Also present was the Registrar, Dato’ Saiful Bahri Ahmad Bakarim.

According to Professor Ts. Dr. Yatimah Alias, programmes such as this not only keep the Ramadan tradition alive, but also strengthen the relationship between the university and the local community.

“This bubur lambuk distribution programme serves as the best platform for the UMPSA community to share blessings and reach out to the community, while also enlivening the spirit of togetherness throughout the month of Ramadan.

“This initiative also reflects the university’s commitment to strengthening the values of togetherness and volunteerism among campus residents,” she said.

A total of nine cauldrons of bubur lambuk and two cauldrons of meat curry, which were distributed to the public, were contributed by Yayasan UMPSA, Isuzu, the Students’ Representative Council (MPP), the Research and Innovation Department, and individual contributors.

A total of 3,000 containers were distributed to the community around the mosque area on this occasion.

This initiative is hoped to further strengthen the relationship between the university and the community, in addition to fostering the spirit of sharing blessings among the UMPSA community throughout the month of Ramadan.
