4 UMPSA staff children graduated, received diplomas and degrees
GAMBANG 21 October 2023 – “I can’t believe I was able to attend Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah’s (UMPSA) 18th Convocation Ceremony today, seeing that I was involved in a road accident that resulted in my car being totalled on 3 September.”
Such was the lament of Amer Daniel Abd Rahman who is a Diploma in Computer Science graduand from the Faculty of Computing.
He, who now works as an Information Technology Assistant at a company in Shah Alam said, it was like being given a second chance to live when he survived a road accident that almost claimed his life on the Guthrie Expressway.
According to him, the incident occurred at 1:00 a.m. when a vehicle exited the intersection suddenly, causing another car to lose control and rammed into his car.
“As a result of the collision, my car spun and overturned several times and suffered severe damage to all parts.
“However, I am very grateful as I only suffered minor injuries to the face, legs and hands.
“Alhamdulillah, today I was able to bring my parents to attend the UMPSA convocation ceremony,” said Amer, who is the son of the Senior Manager, Institute of Postgraduate Studies (IPS), UMPSA.
The Convocation Ceremony was also celebrated by several other staff children such as Muhammad Aziq Haikal Aluwi, a Diploma in Computer Science graduand who is the son of an Assistant Engineer, Centre for Property Development and Management (PPPH), Aluwi Mohd Sikah and Assistant Information Technology Officer, Centre for Digital Technology, Hazarina Abdul Hamid.
Meanwhile, the Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health graduand, Adam Azim Mohamad Rozi who is the son of Senior Manager, Student Affairs and Alumni Department (JHEPA), Haryani Abdullah, while Arleesya Najwa Arman is the daughter of the late Arman A. Rahim.
A Bachelor of Industrial Technology Management graduand, Hazreen Nursyafina Hazman is the daughter of Senior Executive, SAffAD, Hazman Abdul.
The UMPSA Vice-Chancellor also congratulated all children of UMPSA staff who successfully graduated.
He said this achievement is a testament to their commitment and hard work.
“We are very proud of this achievement,” he said.
