UMPSA adorn their offices with the Jalur Gemilang in honour of independence month
PEKAN, August 29, 2023 - The spirit of patriotism shines bright as one enters the buildings and offices at both campuses of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) in Pekan and Gambang, adorned with the waving Malaysian flags in celebration of this year's National Month.
Each office in the centre of responsibility is encouraged to display the Jalur Gemilang to show their patriotic spirit during this independence month.
According to UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, during the national month, it is only fitting for us to fly the Jalur Gemilang, especially on university buildings, offices, and vehicles. He also urged all department heads to play a role in ensuring that their offices display the Jalur Gemilang in conjunction with the national month.
"The patriotic spirit and deep love for our homeland inspire motivation among university members to decorate their offices with the Jalur Gemilang as we approach the celebration of Malaysia's National Day just a few days away," he said after launching the National Month Celebration at the University and the "Raise the Jalur Gemilang" campaign recently.
The organization of the Office Decoration Competition in conjunction with the 66th Independence Month by the Registrar's Department also provides an opportunity for its members to showcase creativity with a sense of patriotism.
Meanwhile, UMPSA also sent two contingent teams to participate in the district-level National Day Parade in Kuantan and Pekan.
He hoped that this year's National Day, themed 'Malaysia Madani: Tekad Perpaduan Penuhi Harapan' (Civilized Malaysia: Unity in Fulfilling Aspirations), would bring unity, freedom, peace, and prosperity to UMPSA members to create more success and achieve a brighter future for today's and future generations.
On the other hand, for the Assistant Executive of the UMP Foundation, Muhammad Zufli Zuhari, who was hands-on in preparing decorations in the office, he eagerly looked forward to joining the parade with his colleagues on August 31.
He also hoped that all UMPSA members and today's youth could embrace the spirit of national integration, loyalty to the king and country, and wholeheartedly safeguard the security and prosperity of Malaysia.
Throughout this national month, various activities have been planned, including the Presentation of the Jalur Gemilang in conjunction with the 66th National Day in 2023, participation in the State-level National Day Parade and Procession, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme, Office Decoration Competition, TikTok Merdeka, Merdeka Blood Donation, Merdeka Talk: 'The Importance of Leadership by Scholars and Umarak,' and many more.
