UMPSA engages with inclusive students at SMK Kuala Krau during TVET Adventure

KUALA KRAU, 11 October 2024 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) welcomed inclusive students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kuala Krau as part of the recent UMPSA TVET Adventure.

Dr. Munira Abd Razak, Director of the UMPSA Disability Services Unit (OKUMPSA), provided an overview of the basic and inclusive facilities available at UMPSA to 30 inclusive students.

Sign language learning activities were also conducted for students in the fields of Multimedia and Agriculture.

Additionally, these students showcased their talents in a singing performance by the gifted orang asli students Zura a/l Aman and Muhammad Taufik Amirullah Mohammad Muzaimi.

The engagement with the inclusive students was further enriched by the presentation of souvenirs to all participating students and teachers.

UMPSA also recognised the achievements of SMK Kuala Krau in the field of special education by appointing its teachers and students as Icon Damai (Icons of Peace).

SMK Kuala Krau is notable for having a Multimedia Studio for the Special Integrated Education Programme (PPKI), which is the first in Malaysia with a 'gaming' concept.

UMPSA has also appointed Special Education Teacher Mohammad Hazeem Azemi as an Icon Damai: Inclusive Digital Education Technology Teacher (iD-DG), while inclusive students Mohd Adib Syamim Sukri and Muhammad Faris Haikal Rosdi were named Icon Damai: Students of Inclusive Digital Education Technology (iD-DG).
