UMPSA receives a courtesy visit from the Director of Civil Defence Force (APM) Pahang State

PEKAN, 10 October 2023 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) received a courtesy visit from the Director of the Pahang State Civil Defence Force (APM), Colonel (PA) Che Adam Abd. Rahman, to the Commander of the Civil Defence Student Unit (Kor Sispa), Honorary Civil Defence, Professor Ts. Dr. Kamal Zuhairi Zamli, who is also the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) of UMPSA.

This courtesy visit follows the appointment of Professor Ts. Dr. Kamal Zuhairi Zamli as the Commander of UMPSA's Kor Sispa on August 20, 2023.

During the visit, discussions were held regarding several strategic collaborations between APM Pahang and UMPSA. This collaboration is part of an ongoing effort to enhance cooperation and the involvement of UMPSA members, especially students and staff, in post-disaster activities in preparation for the Northeast Monsoon Season (MTL), which is expected to begin in November 2023.

Furthermore, various joint activities are being planned, including conducting Water Safety Training Programmes on Tioman Island, educational visits to Indonesia, invitations to Training and Competency Programmes by APM personnel, skills training programmes, and more.

Also discussed was APM's participation in UMPSA's Open Day, which is currently taking place from October 14 to 15, 2023.

Present during the visit were the Deputy Director of APM Pahang, Major (PA) Zairosnizam Mohd Tarmizi, the Assistant Director of the Secretariat Disaster Management and Operations Division, Major (PA) Zahidi Zainudin, Captain (PA), Civil Defence Officer for the Pekan District, Ahmad Azmi Nafiah, and the Public Relations Officer, Lieutenant (PA) Muhammad Luqman Hakin Abdullah.

UMPSA was represented by the Deputy Commander, Allied Major (PA) Mohd Akram Abdul Razak, the Adjutant of UMPSA's Kor Sispa, Allied Captain (PA) Mohd Raizalhilmy Mohd Rais, Senior Academic Executive of ADAB, Tuan Haji Amirul Ahmad, and the Kor Sispa Officer at UMPSA, Lieutenant (PA) Muhammad Irfan.
