Three 9-Year-Old Pupils from Sekolah Rendah Tahfiz Negeri Pahang Create Hologram Display Innovation, Win Gold at CITREX 2025
PEKAN, 3 July 2025 – At only nine years old, three pupils from Sekolah Rendah Tahfiz Negeri Pahang (SRTNP), Muhammad Iqbal Qayyum Mat Yusri, Muhammad Irfan Mikhail Adnan, and Muhammad Taqiyuddin Mohd Tarmizi, successfully created a hologram display innovation and won a gold medal at the 2025 Creation, Innovation, Technology & Research Exposition (CITREX 2025).
They competed through the Hologram Display innovation in the School Education Innovation category, which took place at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA).
According to their supervisor, Ustaz Mohd Azizi Ramli, this innovation aimed to visualise learning in a 3D format and reduce dependence on physical models in the classroom.
“This innovation has sparked interest among pupils in STEM and allows teachers to integrate technology into teaching and learning (T&L),” he said.
The team also received special support from Ustaz Khairul Azhar Ismail and Ustaz Syed Azrul Hadi Syed Muda, who served as mentors in their innovation journey.
Also accompanying the students were the school head, Ustaz Ahmad Khairil Anuar Noh, the assistant head, Ustaz Ahmad Azamuddin Ahmad, and the chairman of the Parents and Teachers Association (PIBG), Mohamad Faizol Ibrahim.
This success reflects the school’s proactive efforts to strengthen students’ potential in technology and innovation at a young age.
It also proves that students of religious primary schools are not only excellent in religious studies but also capable of mastering science and technology when given guidance and opportunity.
