150 new students receive UMPSA Excellence Incentive

GAMBANG, 29 September 2024 – A total of 150 outstanding students, who have completed their diplomas, matriculation, polytechnic, Vocational College, or the Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM), and were selected to pursue their studies at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), have been awarded the UMPSA Foundation Excellence Incentive for this academic session.

In addition, 30 students received the Educational Incentive Aid, and 12 students from B40 families were provided with laptops as part of the Laptop Assistance Programme to support their pursuit of undergraduate degrees at the university.

This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts of the UMPSA Foundation to support academic excellence among UMPSA students.

The contributions were presented by the Chairman of UMPSA's Board of Directors, Dato' Seri Abdul Razak Jaafar, who is also the Chairman of the UMPSA Foundation Board of Trustees, during the UMPSA Prihatin 2024 Educational Aid Presentation Ceremony.

Also present at the event were UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, and members of the UMPSA Foundation Board of Trustees, including Dato’ Ir. Ts. Izwan Hasli Mohd Ibrahim, Dato’ Ahmad Hairi Hussain, Dato' Sri Ahmad Fuaad Kenali, and Farah Ain Madzlan.

According to Dato' Seri Abdul Razak, the UMPSA Foundation, with the theme ‘Choose to Share’, remains committed to supporting the education and welfare of students.

“As an organisation focused on student wellbeing, UMPSA and the Foundation are committed to ensuring that no student is left behind in terms of financial assistance or moral support,” he said.

“The Educational Incentive Aid is provided to students facing financial challenges in continuing their studies at the university, while the Excellence Incentive is awarded to those who have chosen UMPSA as their first choice and demonstrated outstanding academic performance.

“The university extends its appreciation to the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), Ekuiti Nasional, the Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YaPEIM), and the Rakyat Foundation for their contributions, which have ensured that assistance could be provided to 420 students in need.”

Also present at the event were Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs), Professor Dato' Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rusllim Mohamed, and Treasurer, Dato’ Zainudin Othman.
