Husband and wife receive posthumous award for daughter

GAMBANG, 22 October 2023 - A married couple held back their feelings as they received a posthumous degree scroll for their daughter, who died in a road accident on 3 October 2023.

In place of the late Asniza Adek@Che Ahmad, her parents Adek@Che Ahmad, 46 and Siti Yuana Janamin, 44 received the scroll of B.Eng (Hons.) Manufacturing Engineering presented by the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMPSA), Professor Dato’ Ts.  Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin on the second day of the 18th Convocation Ceremony today.

According to Siti Yuana Janamin, her daughter’s dream to attend the convocation ceremony did not come to fruition when she was involved in an accident 19 days before the convocation ceremony.

“All the dress preparations and plans have been made and Asniza had also made a promise with her friends to take the convocation robes together.

“Alas, we cannot fight against fate, and Allah SWT loves her more.

“Asniza was responsible, loving and strong-willed,” she reminisced.

The mother of four children admitted that she had already accepted the passing of her eldest daughter.

Throughout her study at UMPSA, she always shared her activities and was active in the Reserve Officer Training Unit (ROTU) until she was commissioned as a Military Officer with the rank of Second Lieutenant.

“I would often tell her that she has to be strong to succeed whenever she complained of being busy with tasks or when sharing her problems.

“So today, that strength is what drives me to attend this convocation ceremony,” she said.

Even though Asniza is no longer with them, her family was very proud of the success she had achieved and they will definitely cherish it for as long as they live.
