Lee Jen Sen develops Over-Speed Detection System Project, wins UMPSA Gold Award
GAMBANG, 25 October 2024 – Hard work and perseverance—these are the principles practised by Lee Jen Sen, 21, to achieve success in his studies.
This is evident as he consistently received the Dean’s List Award every semester, qualifying him to become the recipient of the University Gold Award at the 19th Convocation Ceremony of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA).
Lee, a Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering graduate with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.91 believes that working diligently and persistently in any endeavour is the key to achieving outstanding success.
The eldest of two siblings, he considers his parents a source of strength whenever he encounters challenges during his studies at UMPSA.
He shared that his beloved parents, Lee Sang Fook, 54, and Yap Chooi Mei, 53, often motivated and communicated with him whenever he felt discouraged or disheartened.
“Their words of encouragement inspired me and reminded me to achieve the success I have yet to attain,” he said.
Lee, who is now continuing his studies at the bachelor’s degree level at UMPSA, stated that the experiences and knowledge gained during his diploma programme provided him with new insights.
He added that his final year project, titled “Development of an Over-Speed Detection System,” was completed with the help of his lecturers and classmates.
“This project gave me deep exposure to knowledge in electrical and electronic engineering and allowed me to adapt problem-solving skills.
“It taught me the importance of research and the application of theory in practical situations.
“Even at the diploma level, I was exposed to such detailed knowledge.
“That’s one of the reasons why I chose UMPSA as my university of choice for continuing my bachelor’s degree,” he said.
Like other students, he also aspires to contribute his knowledge and services to society, aiming to further develop and advance the electrical and electronic industries in the country.
