Loh Fui Qi overcomes loss to achieve Telekom Malaysia Berhad Excellence Award

GAMBANG, 29 October 2024 – “My life principle is ‘YOLO’ (You Only Live Once),” said Loh Fui Qi, 24, a graduate of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), who recently received the Telekom Malaysia Berhad Excellence Award at the 19th UMPSA Convocation Ceremony.

The graduate from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology (FTKEE) expressed her joy that her hard work paid off, earning her the Dean’s List Award throughout her four years of study at UMPSA.

She shared that her mother passed away on 4 March 2024, during her eighth semester, due to septic shock secondary to infective endocarditis.

“Losing my mother was the greatest challenge of my life, but with the support of my supervisor, Dr Mohamad Shaiful Abdul Karim, and my friends, I managed to complete my studies successfully.

“My biggest achievement was attending the 15th National KOR SISPA Commissioning Ceremony in 2024, officiated by the Deputy Prime Minister, Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi,” she added.

The youngest of three siblings, she was highly active in academics and extracurricular activities during her time at UMPSA.

Loh Fui Qi also participated in several Malaysia-China programmes, TAM Certified and NIOSH-TM Safety Passport certifications, and the 2022 Student Volunteer Mission (YSS) to Sabah.
