Muhammad Sofwan wins UMPSA Chancellor’s Award

GAMBANG, 26 October 2024 – Muhammad Sofwan Sapiyan, 24, an outstanding graduate from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), has proven that a strong family ecosystem is the key to his academic success.

Sofwan was named the recipient of the Chancellor’s Award at the 19th UMPSA Convocation Ceremony.

He demonstrated academic excellence by receiving the Dean’s List Award for seven consecutive semesters, achieving a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.82.

A native of Selangor and the youngest of five siblings, Sofwan began his early education at Sekolah Kebangsaan Puchong Indah before furthering his studies at Sekolah Agama Menengah Bestari.

He then continued to Selangor Matriculation College before pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology (Pharmaceutical) with Honours at UMPSA.

Sofwan expressed his gratitude for all the achievements he has attained throughout his academic journey.

“This excellence would not have been possible without the unwavering support of my family.

“They are my source of inspiration and motivation.

“I also believe that all my efforts and achievements are the result of their prayers and support,” he said.

He is currently serving as a Compliance Auditor Executive at Pharmaniaga, a leading pharmaceutical company in Malaysia.

He added that he feels proud to be part of Pharmaniaga Berhad, a prominent pharmaceutical company in the country.

“As a Compliance Auditor Executive, I am determined to ensure that all company processes and operations comply with established regulations and standards,” he stated.

Sofwan not only excelled academically but was also actively involved in various co-curricular activities.

He published his Final Year Project in the Asia-Pacific Journal of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (APJMBB) and won a gold medal at the 14th Creation, Innovation, Technology & Research Exposition (CITREX 2024).

In addition, he participated in various community and leadership programmes, including serving as the Head of Operations for the Yayasan UMPSA Squad and as the External Relations Exco of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) Student Chapter UMPSA.

In the field of sports, he actively participated in badminton, futsal, swimming, and marathons, with the Garmin Half Marathon in Putrajaya being an annual event he consistently joined.
