Yusuf Abdullah, 70-year-old graduate, captures attention at 19th UMPSA Convocation Ceremony

GAMBANG, 29 October 2024 – Sarawak-born Yusuf Abdullah @ Sanggong Anak Bungu captured the spotlight after successfully completing his Executive Master of Business Management and receiving the recognition at the Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) Convocation Ceremony, held at the University Sports Complex Hall, Gambang Campus, during the Ffifth Session today.

He stated that he is determined to apply everything he learned in his studies at UMPSA to build his own business in the agricultural sector.

“I want to be an inspiration to anyone out there, especially for the elderly like me, that age is not a barrier to gaining knowledge.

“As long as we are still breathing, knowledge is always there to be learned and shared,” said Yusuf, who has 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Among the challenges faced by Yusuf during his studies at UMPSA were adapting to the new economic landscape and modernisation.

Despite being busy with his studies, Yusuf was also actively involved in community activities, including serving as the President of the Sarawak Motor Industry Club in 1984 and as the Assistant Secretary-General of the Bintulu Agricultural Cooperative.
