17 KOR SISPA UMPSA students receive certificate of Civil Defense Junior Lieutenant
PAGOH, 18 August 2024 – A total of 17 Civil Defense Student Corps (SISPA) students from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) received their credentials as Civil Defense Junior Lieutenants during the Civil Defense Student Corps End of Training Parade (KOR SISPA) National Level 15th Year 2024 at Padang Kawad, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM).
The Deputy Prime Minister, His Excellency Dato' Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, was present to officiate the ceremony.
Also in attendance were the Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, and UTHM Vice-Chancellor, Colonel (Honorary) Professor Dato' Ir. Ts. Dr. Ruzairi Abdul Rahim.
The ceremony aimed to celebrate the officers with full ceremony and protocol, marking the completion of the SISPA Cadet Officer (PKS) training.
The cadets are now commissioned as junior officers in the Civil Defense Force after three years of structured training.
Dato' Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi congratulated the 827 cadets who were commissioned.
He expressed hope that all cadets will remain enthusiastic and work hard in pursuing their ambitions, encouraging them to report to Civil Defense (APM) offices throughout the country to continue serving society and their communities.
At the same ceremony, Second Lieutenant (PA) Nurul Izzati Jusoh was named UMPSA's Best SISPA Cadet Officer.
Nurul Izzati is the second of five children of Jusoh Sulaiman and Razaina Ishak. Active in volunteering and association activities, she joined KOR SISPA UMPSA and served as Secretary for the 2022/2023 Academic Session.
For Second Lieutenant (PA) Nurul Izzati, her successful involvement in KOR SISPA has been supported by family and friends.
"Involvement in KOR SISPA gave me the opportunity to participate in numerous programmes and volunteering activities.
"Among them, I was appointed Secretary of the Engineering Electric and Electronic Society (EEES) for the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 Academic Sessions.
"I also served as the Secretary General of the UMPSA Student Representative Council (MPP), Deputy President of the EEES Club, a UMPSA Kilau volunteer, and was part of the collaboration with UTHM Prihatin in mobilizing the Johor Post-Flood Relief Mission 2023 in Batu Pahat on 20 March 2023," she said.
Meanwhile, she has been appointed President of the EEES Club for the 2023/2024 Academic Session and Honorary Treasurer of the UMPSA Debate Club.
The ceremony saw a total of 827 students celebrated in the parade, with 769 receiving the rank of Junior Lieutenant (Civil Defense) and 58 receiving the rank of Junior Staff (Civil Defense).
In total, 8,764 students have successfully completed the KOR SISPA co-curricular module and been commissioned as officers of the APM (Civil Defense Force).
Also present were the Commander of the UMPSA SISPA Corps, PPj. Honorary (PA) Professor Ts. Dr. Kamal Zuhairi Zamli, Deputy Commander of the UMPSA SISPA Corps, Associate Major (PA) Mohd Akram Abd Razak, Capt. Associate (PA) Mohd Raizalhilmy Mohd Rais, Director of the UMPSA ADAB Academy, Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Nizam Mohamad Kahar, along with university officials.
