Jom Masuk U 2024 starts a series of tours to 10 zones nationwide
PERAK, 3 May 2024 - The Jom Masuk U 2024 Programme (JMU2024) began a series of tours to ten zones throughout the country from 3 May to 9 June 2024 with the opening ceremony completed by the Minister of Higher Education, Yang Berhormat Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Perak Branch, Seri Iskandar Campus recently.
JMU2024 is an initiative of the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) to provide information on admission to higher education institutions (HEIs) in addition to encouraging students to continue their studies to a higher level.
Also present at the Opening Ceremony of JMU2024, UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs), Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman.
According to Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie, UMPSA booths are located in ten locations according to the stipulated schedule, and UMPSA will host the JMU 2024 on 1 and 2 June 2024 at the UMPSA Sports Complex Hall, Gambang Campus.
“UMPSA offers various suitable Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programmes specifically for TVET Diploma graduates,” he said.
He also welcomed polytechnic diploma graduates to pursue their Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology in TVET at UMPSA and the Malaysian Technical Universities Network (MTUN).
In addition, UMPSA offers a Science and Technology Foundation programme and students have the opportunity to pursue a dual degree in a collaborative programme with institutions in Germany, China and Kazakhstan, and South Korea in the future.
Various interesting activities are offered throughout JMU2024 including exhibitions, UPUOnline® consultation sessions, sponsorship/scholarship/loan consultations and higher education financial assistance, terjah IPTA booths, lucky draws, campus tours, student performances, activities with alumni and more.
The organisation of JMU2024 can promote information about educational programmes offered by IPT under MOHE which include Public Universities (UA), Private Higher Education Institutions (IPTS), Polytechnics, Community Colleges (KK) as well as the involvement of Public Skills Training Institutions (ILKA).
JMU2024 targets students who sit for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM), Matriculation, Foundation, Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) and diploma/equivalent.
Throughout the JMU2024 programme, SPM and STPM/equivalent holders can also apply and update the UPUOnline® application which has been opened for Phase 2 from 29 April to 9 June 2024 at 5:00 pm.
