KDYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong spends time with UMP associates hands over donations to students

GAMBANG, 14 April 2023 - His Majesty Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah was pleased to spend time with Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) associates and provide donations to 60 students here.

Also accompanying were the Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah and Tengku Arif Bendahara Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri’ayatuddin Shah.

Also present were Menteri Besar Pahang, Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Sri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, Chairman of the UMP Board of Directors, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman and UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin.

According to Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie, UMP students and academics would continue their academic excellence and continue to excel in research and innovation in the future by achieving various successes.

“This includes producing more researchers from UMP who are recognised as the best scientists in the world,” he said in his speech.

In conjunction with the month of Ramadan, UMP has distributed RM200,000.00 for iftar and sahur meals preparation for free for a month with more than 1,600 students benefiting from this initiative which was raised through agencies and corporates, UMP employees’ salary deductions and the public.

A total of 1000 students attended the His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Iftar Ceremony programme with UMP associates at the UMP Sports Complex Hall, Gambang Campus.
