Meriahnya Raya UMPSA, more than 1,500 university members celebrate Aidilfitri

PEKAN, 14 April 2025 – A lively and warm atmosphere was clearly visible on the faces of more than 1,500 members of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) who gathered at the UMPSA Pekan Multipurpose Hall in conjunction with the University-level Aidilfitri Celebration Ceremony today.

The event, held in a spirit of harmony and togetherness, was further graced by the presence of UMPSA Pro-Chancellor, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Abi Musa Asa’ari Mohamed Nor, Chairman of the UMPSA Board of Directors, Dato’ Seri Abdul Razak Jaafar, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Yatimah Alias, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs), Professor Dato’ Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rusllim Mohamed, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Professor Ts. Dr. Aida Mustapha, together with the university’s top management, academic staff, administrative staff, and students.

Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Abi Musa Asa’ari Mohamed Nor, Dato’ Seri Abdul Razak Jaafar, and Professor Dr. Yatimah Alias also took the time to visit the festive food booths and interact with UMPSA community members.

Various traditional dishes such as lemang, rendang, ketupat, satay, and kuih were served by faculties and responsibility centres (PTj) participating in the celebration.

Attendees were not only treated to delicious food but also entertained with cultural performances by the UMPSA Cultural Centre, as well as prize presentations for the most beautifully decorated booths and creative video competitions held in conjunction with the celebration.

For the ‘Syoknya Raya UMPSA’ creative video competition organised by the Centre for Corporate Communications (PKK), a total of 17 entries were received from across the campus community.

The first prize was won by Muhammad Hakim Abu, who took home RM500.00 in cash for his video titled ‘Raya Segulung Ijazah di Perantauan’.

The second prize was awarded to the Centre of Instructional Resources & e-Learning (CIReL) UMPSA for their video titled ‘Master Raya’, winning RM300.00.

The third prize went to Muhammad Akmal Nurhakim for his video titled ‘Syok Ke Raya’, earning RM200.00 in cash.

A total of 20 booths also competed in the most beautifully decorated booth contest.

The Chancellery Department won first place, receiving RM500.00 in cash.

Second place went to the Research and Innovation Department, which received RM300.00.

Third place was awarded to the Student Affairs and Alumni Department, with a cash prize of RM200.00.

The event not only served as a platform to strengthen ties among university members but also reflected the strong spirit of unity and togetherness within the UMPSA community.

UMPSA remains committed to organising high-impact programmes that enhance relationships between administration, staff, and students, while cultivating noble values and a harmonious work culture among its members.
