Official visit of UMP delegation to MMU Cyberjaya explores strategic collaboration
CYBERJAYA, 19 December 2022 - The visit of the Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) delegation to Multimedia University (MMU) aimed to establish a joint venture and share resources in terms of academics, technology, expertise and others.
The delegation led by the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin with the top management of the university was welcomed by the President of Multimedia University (MMU), Professor Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud.
According to Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie, the visit provided an opportunity for both university managements to share experiences and explore collaboration especially in digital development, research, training and synergy as well as expanding TVET programmes in both universities.
“This visit to MMU is also a benchmark for Malaysian Government-Linked Universities (GLU) in strengthening its position as the leading private university in the country as evidenced by its consistent ranking and rating in the world and within the country.
“The university also intends to hold a visit and explore collaborations involving Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) and Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) which are wholly owned by the Malaysian Government-Linked Companies (GLC),” he said.
The meeting among others discussed the expansion of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes, collaborative programmes in research, synergy, training and consultancy.
Professor Dato’ Dr. Mazliham welcomed UMP delegates and intended to hold further discussions, especially related to the field of research and synergy collaboration at UMP.
Also present from MMU were the Vice President, Academic and Innovative Learning (AIR), Professor Ir. Dr. Wong Hin Yong, Vice President, Market Exploration, Engagement and Touchpoint (MEET), Professor Ir. Dr. Hairul Azhar Abdul Rashid, Vice President, Student Experience and Entrepreneurship Development (SEED), Professor Dr. Wong Eng Kiong.
Also present were Vice President, Finance and Business Venture, Nor Adni Ismail and Vice President, Strategic Marketing, Admission and Recruitment (SMART), Zambri Pawanchik.
Delegates had the opportunity to visit Ainqa Lab at the Faculty of Computing and Informatics, 5G Lab at the Faculty of Engineering and Motion Capture Studio at the Faculty of Creative Multimedia.
