Titian Iman Bridge Reflects UMPSA Alumni Care and creates a lasting charitable legacy

PEKAN, 22 July 2026 - The Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) Alumni Relations Centre has launched the 'Let's Contribute, UMPSA Alumni!' campaign to raise RM60,000 for the Titian Iman Bridge project, an initiative set to benefit more than 3,700 Muslim students at UMPSA Pekan.

The project will create a pedestrian link between the student residential area and Al-Jazari Mosque, making it easier for students to attend congregational and Friday prayers.

At present, students must travel between 2.14 and 2.5 kilometres to reach the mosque.

The journey not only takes longer, but also exposes students to hot weather or rain and increases the risk of their arriving after the Friday sermon has begun.

Limited capacity on the shuttle bus service presents an additional challenge, particularly on Fridays.

Once the Titian Iman Bridge is completed, the journey is expected to be shortened by up to 60 per cent, to just 0.96 kilometres, providing a safer, more comfortable and accessible route.

Director of the UMPSA Alumni Relations Centre Ts. Dr. Mohamad Rusydi Mohamad Yasin said the initiative gave alumni an opportunity to continue contributing to the university's development and students' welfare after graduation.

"The Titian Iman Bridge is more than a piece of physical infrastructure; it is a symbol of solidarity and of our alumni's care for future generations of UMPSA students.

"Every contribution will become part of an enduring charitable legacy whose benefits continue over time," he said.

He added that whenever students used the bridge to attend prayers and take part in campus activities, contributors would share in the spiritual reward generated by those benefits.

Ts. Dr. Mohamad Rusydi called on UMPSA alumni to support the campaign and help bring to life a bridge that could have a significant impact on the campus community.

"Even a small contribution can make an enormous difference to thousands of students.

"I believe the strong sense of family and solidarity among UMPSA alumni can help make this project a reality for the convenience and well-being of our students," he said.

The Titian Iman Bridge project is also regarded as a form of waqf investment that will contribute to a more supportive campus ecosystem while advancing the university's efforts to foster a culture of giving and charitable action.

Members of the public, particularly UMPSA alumni, can contribute through the InfaqPay platform at https://infaqpay.my/plus/tabung-alumni-umpsa-pembinaan-jambatan or by scanning the QR code provided in the campaign's promotional materials.

The campaign aims to reach its RM60,000 target and make the Titian Iman Bridge a lasting alumni welfare legacy for the future benefit of the UMPSA community.
