UMP receives RM63,650 research grant for Pahang State Pondok School Education System
KUANTAN, 12 October 2022 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) received a Research Grant for the Empowerment and Recognition Initiative of the Pahang State Pondok School Education System amounting to RM63,650 from the Pahang Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MUIP).
The handover was delivered by the Deputy of MUIP, YAM Tengku Panglima Raja Tengku Amir Naseer Ibrahim Shah to the Senior Director of the UMP Research and Innovation Department, Professor Dr. Mohd Hasbi Abdul Rahim, representing the UMP Vice-Chancellor.
Also present were the Pahang State Mufti, Sahibus Samahah Dato’ Sri Dr. Haji Abdul Rahman Haji Osman, Chief Executive Officer of MUIP, Dato’ Ahmad Hairi Haji Husain, member of MUIP, Associate Professor Dr. Hasan Ahmad cum the Director of the Institute of Civilisation and Strategic Studies (ITKAS) and the Dean of the Centre for Human Sciences (PSK), Dr. Mohamad Hilmi Mat Said.
YAM Tengku Panglima Raja Tengku Amir said Multaqa is a platform for meetings between scholars from Ma’ahad Tahfiz, madrasah and pondok in Pahang to strengthen relationships and exchange ideas.
They intend to establish an institute of knowledge as an Islamic Centre related to Islam through services and training in order to help strengthen religious bodies and improve the quality of skills of teachers in madrasah or pondok.
Meanwhile, according to Professor Dr. Mohd Hasbi, this programme is part of the agenda to update the schools’ data while strengthening the relationship between the participants.
“The data will be used in the study of initiatives to empower and recognise the Pahang State Pondok School Education System,” he said.
The Multaqa for Chairmen and Principals of Pahang Ma’ahad Tahfiz, Madrasah and Pondok was co-organised by UMP and MUIP at Grand Darul Makmur Hotel recently.
Also taking place was the presentation of paperworks by Al Fadhil Ustaz Barakatullah Bahari, Dr. Abdul Kamil Jamaludin and Dr. Asmadi Abd Rahman.
