UMP, RTM, ADABI celebrate campus residents in 2023 Ramadan Tour
PEKAN, 24 March 2023 - The collaboration programme between Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) with RTM and Adabi in the 2023 Ramadan Tour with campus residents in the month of Ramadan in conjunction with the celebration of 21 years of UMP and 77 years of RTM this year brought closer good relations with the local community.
The Ramadan Tour programme was also held as a support from UMP and RTM to the people around Pahang to observe Ramadan al-Mubarak 1444H.
The programme was also a continuation of the UMP and RTM collaboration programme since 2016 by organising community meetings in a series of tours including Moh La Weh held in Janda Baik, Tioman and Chemomoi.
This year, both parties also intend to hold a Syawal Tour and Prihatin Tour programmes in several locations that will be identified.
According to the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, in an effort to observe Ramadan, UMP prepares meals for breaking fast on a scheduled basis for departments coordinated by the Islamic and Human Development Centre (PIMPIN) for as many as 2,000 students every day during this Ramadan.
“With a target of RM240,000 for preparing this meal, UMP invites corporate companies and the public to jointly contribute to the Ramadan Fund under Yayasan UMP,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Director of the Pahang State Broadcasting Department, Ariffin Awang, had the opportunity to meet and work together in preparing the meals.
The Muqarrabin Forum was also held with guest panels, PU Angah or Abdul Hafiz Mad Radzi and the Director of the Islamic and Human Development Centre, Associate Professor Dr. Rashidi Abbas.
It was more meaningful when the food products manufacturer, Adabi Consumer Industries Sdn. Bhd. (Adabi) also chose UMP for its cooking programme and distributed more than 800 bubur lambuk packs to students and campus residents.
Campus residents could enjoy meals cooked using Adabi spices and condiments with the help of as many as 50 UMP Kilau volunteers who had been present since early morning for cooking, packing and distributing bubur lambuk.
During this month of Ramadan, various programmes organised by the Islamic and Human Development Centre (PIMPIN) and Yayasan UMP including Salam Cinta Ramadan to help off-campus students and assistance to communities in need to observe Ramadan and prepare for Hari Raya Aidilfitri for B40 families and the needy.
In conjunction with the Ramadan Tour, RTM donated 50 copies of the Quran to Masjid UMP, Masjid Kuala Pahang and Masjid Tanjung Selangor, Pekan.
While UMP delivered 30 Bakul Rahmah donated by Yayasan UMP to communities with needs around the campus.
Also present were Adabi Kuantan General Manager Abd Rahim Mohd Nor, Yayasan UMP Chief Executive Mohd Jamil Mohd Ja’afar and UMP Student Services Director Mohd Raizalhilmy Mohd Rais.
