UMPSA celebrates 144 Excellent Staff and Quality and Innovation Day Award Recipients
GAMBANG, 24 April 2024 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) celebrated a total of 144 recipients of the Outstanding Service Award and award recipients in conjunction with the UMPSA Quality and Innovation Day which took place at the Sports Complex Hall of the UMPSA Gambang Campus.
This council recognizes UMPSA citizens who have achieved outstanding success in the fields of publishing, research, innovation and commercialization and appreciates the excellent contributions given by staff and being an example to other staff to instil an excellent work culture in carrying out duties and responsibilities throughout the year 2023.
In this ceremony, the Chairman of the UMPSA Board of Directors, Dato' Seri Abd Razak Jaafar was present accompanied by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato' Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin presented the awards to the recipients.
According to Dato' Seri Abd Razak, coinciding with the theme of this year's Quality and Innovation Day celebration, 'Superior Minds, Global Talent', a quality work culture based on innovation plays an important role in sharpening the mind and building talent capable of competing on the global stage.
"This theme outlines the vision to create a work ecosystem that is not only superior in quality, but also includes talent that has a global mindset, is highly competitive, and is capable of bringing significant transformation inside and outside the organization.
"High-quality work performance and global standards are now a demand among university students in line with efforts to bring UMPSA to the world stage along with the realization of the UMPSA Strategic Plan 2021-2025," he said.
This council also appreciates employees and responsibility centres at UMPSA who successfully apply the principles of quality and innovation in carrying out their responsibilities while celebrating their efforts in fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and creativity.
Among the awards contested are the Best Article Writing Award, Occupational Safety and Health Excellence Award, Sports Award, Community Personality Award, Industry and Community Excellence Award, Public Sector Conducive Ecosystem Award (EKSA), Innovative and Creative Group Award (KIK), Quality Award Vice Chancellor and Special Award.
Also taking place was the Aidilfitri Celebration which was held in full swing at the Chancellery Square, UMPSA Gambang Campus with the presence of over 3,000 staff and students.
In this programme, UMPSA Pro-Chancellor, Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr. Abi Musa Asa'ari Mohamed Nor was also present to deliver Eid donations to disabled students and orphans.
There was also a competition for the best booth which saw the Research and Innovation Department announced as the winner followed by the Treasurer's Department in second place and, the Chancellery Department in third place.
