UMPSA lecturers participate in the 2024 Technology Carnival CSR Programme

KUALA LIPIS, 13 June 2024 – Lecturers and students of the Faculty of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering Technology (FTKMA) at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) participated in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme of Technology Carnival 2024 at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan RPS Betau, Kuala Lipis.

According to the Head of Programme, Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Asnul Hadi Ahmad, who is also a lecturer at FTKMA, the programme was jointly organized by Yayasan Pahang (YP), The Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) Pahang, and the Pahang State Department of Education. It was attended by nine lecturers and four FTKMA postgraduate students.

"The programme aims to give exposure to the engineering and technology programs offered by UMPSA to school students, who are mostly indigenous. 

“The lecturers from the Manufacturing Technology Focus Group (MTG) gave demonstrations on how to assemble robotic hardware, basic engineering projects, and briefings on careers related to engineering and technology.

"In addition, we also provided students with exposure to technology related to robotics, drones, and solar energy," he said.

He hopes that such programmes can foster interest, especially among indigenous students, to further their studies in the field of engineering and technology.

The two-day programme, which started on June 12, was concluded by the Chief Operating Officer of Yayasan Pahang (YP), Haji Abdul Razak Abu Musa Shaari, and the Deputy Director of Education of the Pahang State Education Department, Ahmad Zamri Md Isa.
