UMPSA organises 2023/2024 Mentoring Appreciation Ceremony
PEKAN, 3 September 2024 – The Sejahtera Centre, Student Affairs and Alumni Department, together with the Human Resource Development Division of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) recently hosted a Mentoring Appreciation Ceremony for the 2023/2024 Session.
The event aims to appreciate and recognise the mentors and mentees who had shown commitment and cooperation during the six-month programme.
This Mentoring Programme was the first to be organised at UMPSA.
It involved a total of 21 mentors and 27 mentees among academic and executive staff.
Mentors consisted of experienced professionals in their respective fields, while mentees consisted of new staff or those who have recently changed departments.
The opening ceremony was officiated by the UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin.
He said this mentoring programme is one of the main initiatives that is fully supported at UMPSA.
“I really appreciate the incredible commitment from volunteer mentors who have provided guidance, support and professional assistance to selected mentees.
“Their efforts have not only succeeded in increasing work productivity at UMPSA but also in advancing the personal and professional development of both mentors and mentees.
“I hope this dedication will continue to be a source of inspiration and open up opportunities for future success,” he said.
Also present at the ceremony were the Registrar, Dato’ Saiful Bahri Ahmad Bakarim, Senior Manager of the Registry Department, Tuan Haji Abdul Shukur Ishak, Director of the JHEPA Sejahtera Centre, Paridah Mohd Ali and Human Resource Development Division Manager, Juliana Mohd Ali.
This programme involved volunteers as mentors who were interested in providing guidance, support and professional assistance to selected mentees to help increase work productivity at UMPSA.
The Best Mentor Pair was won by Dr. Mirta Widia as a mentor and Dr. Norwahida Jacob@Jacob as mentee.
